Apple M2 Chipset

Two years ago, Apple introduced the M1 chipset for Mac devices and promised to transition the entire Mac lineup with its own chipsets. Fast forward to 2022, all Mac devices are transitioned with M1 chipset series (expect the Mac Pro) and finally the time has arrived for next generation and thus the company introduced M2 chip based on 5nm architecture.

More Transistors, better CPU and GPU performance.

The new M2 chipset consists of 20 billion transistors — 25 percent more than M1. This allows the chip to support up to 24GB of unified memory. Further, the chip provides 18% better CPU performance as compared to M1 and comes up with up to 10 cores of GPU to provide 35% better GPU performance as compared to M1.

New design with return of magsafe.

The new design of the most popular mac device from Apple also brings back the most preferred charging tech, "MagSafe". The device also features two thunderbolt ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack with support for high-impedance headphones. The full functional magic keyboard includes full size function keys and touch id embedded in power button.

The device also features a full sized trackpad and comes with Four-Speaker sound system and a 1080p FaceTime HD Camera.

Larger and better Liquid Retina Display.

The M2 MacBook Air replaces the old display with better 13.6 inch Liquid Retina Display and introduces the notch and thin borders just like the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inch. At 500 nits of brightness, it is also 25 percent brighter than before. In addition, the new display now supports 1 billion colors, so photos and movies look incredibly vibrant.
