iPhone 13 series: All new powerful iPhones!

Apple announced all new iPhone 13 series in the September Event yesterday and meanwhile it looks like the upgrade is not significant but there are few things which can be considered. Just like last year, this time we have iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

iPhones for the majority: iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13

The basic iPhone models do not come with major changes but for the same pricing they do have significant changes and are perfect for users who want to experience Apple Ecosystem with flagship features (by compromising on few features). The new models have received a smaller notch by shifting the speaker grill to the top while maintaining all face id sensors. The display is also improved which is 30% brighter.

Under the hood we have A15 Bionic chipset with 6-core CPU that’s 50% faster than leading competition whereas iPhone 13 mini has 4-core CPU that’s 30% faster and the 5G support is also maintained. In terms of camera we have most advanced dual-camera system – 12MP Ultra-Wide lens with image stabilisation all thanks to the diagonal orientation of the camera lenses. The phone is also bringing Cinematic mode feature that captures cinema style moments – holds focus on subject, anticipates when a subject is going into frame, focus on subjects gaze, and records in 4k 60 Dolby Digital HDR.

The devices feature a bigger and better battery and the battery life with 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 mini and 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12, the Smart Data mode conserves batter life. We do have better speak recognition and better privacy protection as well and the MagSafe capability is retained with wider accessories support.

The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699 or INR 69,900 and iPhone 13 starts at $799 or INR 79,900 for 128 GB storage variant which is double as compared to last year.

Most powerful iPhones ever: iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have received the major upgrades as compared to last year. The most awaited 120hz Pro motion display is finally here on the pro models along with new Super Retina XDR display which goes upto 1000 nits.

The New Ultra-Wide camera with brighter and more sharper images will help you take amazing ultra wide shots. Same Cinematic mode with better cinematic video capabilities and better machine learning is also included. MacroPhotography that enables sharper focus on subject has finally arrived and Night mode is better than previous generations. Video capabilities of 4k 60 FPS Dolby HDR pro-level recording and ProRes video that lets you record in 4k and 30 frames per second right from camera app. (1080P and 30 FPS for 128 GB models)

The Battery is greatest and brings all day battery life that last 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro and 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 Pro Max while having 5G. MagSafe is also there for wireless charging and accessories with a wider support.

Smaller notch, stainless steel sides and matt glass back contribute in the aesthetics while ceramic shield is there to protect the screen with good crack resistance. The available colours are Graphite, Gold, Silver and Sierra Blue. Among these Sierra Blue is the flagship colour for this year and my personal favourite as well.

The iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999 or INR 1,19,900 and iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1099 or INR 1,29,900 for 128 GB variant and this time we do have a 1TB storage option as well.

This is all for this year's iPhone models and there are few other product launched about which you can read here.
